DOMAIN is a first person ARPG that aims to explore the concept of “elements”, and measure their impact on game design when pushed to an extreme.

Solo project completed in 20 weeks as a second school project for CG Spectrum College

Role: Narrative, Game & Level Designer, Blueprint & AI scripter

Created and developed under the mentorship of Jonathan Morin (ex Creative Director at Ubisoft)

Done in Unreal Engine 5

Materials and 3D assets downloaded from the Quixel Megascans library

Character models and animations downloaded from Mixamo

DOMAIN immerses the player in a hypothetical future where the elements’ essence have been compartmented, creating 4 very distinct world regions (called Domains), and leading to a war over their control.

    Have the player consider where they should stand and when in order to make the most out of their environment and their enemies’ weaknesses, therefore making a kill extremely satisfying.

  • Deep Emotional connection

    Build a rich narrative experience through a dramatic story, continuous player’s involvement and seamlessly integrated game mechanics, that allows for strong fantasy fulfillment and deepens the relationship between the player and the player character.

  • Strong Accountability

    Think every system so that they give the player full responsibility; over their progression, the life of an in-game companion, and most of all, the survival of the human race.
